I have read over 50 books about the law of attraction including The Secret and even something called The Secret missing from the Secret. LOL. I feel like a little kid trying to find the clue that everyone seems to have. The problem is that attracting things into my life has worked- inconsistently.

I finally stumbled upon a book called the 11 Forgotten Laws revealing the things that were left out in all of these books. It’s not magic by any means, because nothing is, but it works. Trust me, I’m the last person to preach about a law of attraction product or book. As you can see on this site, its devoted simply to discussion and ideas, but this is definitely worth a mention.

Bob Proctor, a key figure in the movie The Secret, is a firm believer that the Secret is incomplete. Bob is not the only one that believes this. I recently attended a conference where Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul guy) stated that The Secret is excellent, however, it is just a stepping stone to attracting the life you want.

As such, Bob has come out with 11 concise laws that have been left out of the secret and they are worth checking out. If you are interested, Click Here!

Well, those are my thoughts on Bob and his great book and here is a great video on someone else who has read the book, listened to the cds. I like this guy because he was a total skeptic..haha.

So, if you are want to read/listen to the 11 forgotten laws, Click Here!

Each morning most of us, through force of habit will get up and go to work or school, but you have a choice NOT to do those things. Ofcourse, if you didn’t go to work you could get fired, and if you didn’t go to school you would miss out on taking that important math test or homework assignment.

Each of us have the Free Will to make our own choices.

A student at school has to follow the rules governing the school or he/she will have penalties to answer for, but even at school a person can choose NOT to accept the rules. And go at his or her own Free Will.

Free Will is the abliity to choose for one’s self and accept the consequences for their actions.

The meaning of life, in my view is Procreation & Free Will.

—————————–

First of all, Man, like all things, has two consistencies: the physical and the nonphysical, or, the mundane and the sublime; the physical, or mundane, consistency constitutes the flesh, and the flesh contains the vital organ-systems necessary to physical, or mundane, life - which, in Man, are the heart-lung-belly system, the musculature-skeleton system, and the brain-nervetree system (take note here that these number three); the nonphysical, or sublime, consistency constitutes the body (which is the nonphysical counterpart to the physical body), and the body contains the vital organ-systems necessary to nonphysical, or sublime, life - which, in Man, are the the soul (the corresponding nonphysical counterpart to the heart-lung-belly system), the spirit (the corresponding nonphysical counterpart to the musculature-skeleton system) and the mind (the corresponding nonphysical counterpart to the brain-nervetree system).

—————————–

- You may have heard - but have you SEEN, EXPERIENCED within yourself (and without as well) the POWER of God?

Based on your response, obviously not - but I actually hope that you have and aren’t admitting it or will someday. I most certainly have. And I believe that the indescribable experience of “otherness”, of something more - isn’t merely wishful thinking. It isn’t delusion. It’s God. Like when you’ve had a great cigar, or meal, or sex, or see the beauty (and perhaps even lack therof) in life, nature, the universe - I KNOW, from my subjective experience, that I have SEEN God through those wonderful experiences.

—————————–

I have a firm belief that the answer to the meaning of life is 42. Before you say anything, I KNOW that Douglas Adams said 42 means nothing and was just a simple idea thought up while he was looking out the window, BUT, if you spend your time wondering what the ‘meaning of life’ is, 42 fills that gap. Once you have that question answered, you can move on to more important matters.

—————————–

The opinions/thoughts/excretions of others is only a indication of where you are and what surrounds you. There is only one voice/opinion/life and that is yours. You are the only constant in your existence. Believe in yourself. Look into yourself, hear your thoughts, don’t judge what you see or hear. If you don’t like it put it aside for another time (part of non-judgement). Creation/God, what you like, has only one resource for creation, it self. So by definition you are not beyond, different, defective, hopeless, etc. You are looking for someone else’s voice to fill the void created by dismissing your own. How can life be confusing if by definition we are life?

—————————–

Who do you think is in control of your feelings and thoughts? Is it you? Give it some thought.

Suppose I say you are the most noble person I have ever met in my life, that I would give anything to be like you, that you are my role model and I literally worship you. How would you feel? Great! Now suppose I say you are a worthless loser with nothing to achieve in life. How do you feel? Saddened?

As you can see, many times our feelings may be governed and subtly controlled by the opinion of others. It contributes to the reason why happiness for so many is a desirable, yet fleeting experience. Real happiness is found within - it is that which does not depend on external factors such as what others might think of you. Everlasting happiness is derived from something deep down in our very nature that allows one to be happy and grateful for our existence here. If you are not influenced by what others think of you and can lead your life to be and do good, you can be truly happy.

Buddha provides us lessons on life

Once Buddha was teaching a man who disagreed with him and started to verbally abuse him. Buddha, however, was calm and serene with a smile on his face; he remained unmoved by his comments. Seeing this, the man got even more agitated and escalated his shouting and abuse. Still, there was no reaction from Buddha.

The man, tired, asked the Buddha, “Why is it that you never respond?”

Buddha replied “If you offer me a gift and I don’t accept it, who has the gift now?”

The man replied “Of course, I do, don’t you even know that!”

Then the Buddha calmly replied, “Suppose I don’t accept your abuses, with whom do they remain?”

The man was quiet.

This small incident in the life of Buddha teaches us a great deal. Buddha realized that he can never be happy if he sought happiness from outside. It was easy for the Buddha to feel flattered when his disciples praised him and feel bitter when someone disagreed with him. However, Buddha always remained calm and composed because his life was not controlled by others – he was in control of his life. His happiness and his outlook didn’t depend on what others thought about him, rather they came from a sense of fulfillment that came from deep within his own being.

It is easy for us to feel bitter with the people around us. It is easy to feel that life has been unfair and feel all bad about it. It is easy to feel jealous of the success of others and question God why he is being unfair. It is easy to ask ‘Why Me’ when things go wrong. However, opportunities and hurdles come in everyone’s life. The point is, if you are unfazed by them, then you can remain eternally happy. Your happiness should not depend on your success and failure or on what others think about you or how better off you are compared to your neighbor. Only when you realize this, you can be truly happy with life.

Feel dejected with life and bogged down with failures and uncertainties? Take a cue from the life of Steve Jobs. As one of the biggest names in the corporate world, Steve has passed through many life’s challenges prior to making one of the biggest comebacks in corporate history. It would have been easy to give up at any stage, however, Jobs never quit. He always listened to his heart and his heart said,

You’ve got to find what you love. Keep looking…don’t settle.”

Have the courage to follow your heart: Young Steve was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs after his biological mother, a young unwed graduate student put him up for adoption. After high school, Jobs went to college for only six months after which he dropped out!! Jobs realized it was too costly for his parents and he just couldn’t see value in this type of education. At this point, Jobs had absolutely no idea what he wanted to do with his life. He claims, however, that this was one of the best decisions he ever made. He began taking classes that he found interesting. He took calligraphy class and though he didn’t know it then, he now credits this as the inspiration for the world’s most widely utilized computer fonts. He went to India to travel and find enlightenment. Jobs followed his instincts and trusted that the dots would somehow connect in the future. As Jobs explains,

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.”

Don’t lose faith: Steve finally got in touch with former co-worker, Steve Wozniak, and they decided to partner together to work on a project in personal computing technology. Jobs and Wozniak started Apple Computers in the Jobs family garage. In the span of ten years, Apple grew to become a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. And then just when everything was going well, after the first Macintosh was release, life thru Jobs another curveball and he was fired by the board of directors! He was publicly ousted; it was humiliating. Jobs questioned,

How do get fired from a company you started???”

After realizing that he still loved what he was doing, Steve Jobs made a big decision-he decided to start all over again. Not even a handful of people would have the courage to stick it out, in spite of such difficulties. He didn’t have an image to take care of now, and he soon enjoyed one of the most creative periods of his life. He learned,

To live today as if were the last day of your life. If it were, would you want to do what you are doing today? If the answer is no too many days in a row, you are doing something wrong.

Jobs went on to start another company called NeXT and then, of course, Pixar. As fate would have it, Apple then acquired NeXT and Jobs came full circle back to Apple Computers going on to take the CEO position. Jobs again made history by bringing Apple back with avengeance with the advent of the newer Apple computers and the revolutionary iPod.

These feats of Steve Jobs are extraordinary and unparalleled. He never gave up at any point in time, even when things seemed to turn ugly. Jobs persisted when the tide was against him and continued to do what he loved to do. If you want to keep going ahead in life, you should never give up on what is close to your heart; take a cue from Steve Jobs and always persist in the face of adversity.

Please watch one of the most inspirational speeches I have ever seen. Steve Jobs at a Stanford Graduation Commencement 2005:

So, why don’t we all meditate? Well, first, it can be seriously time consuming. Second, and more importantly, even when we sit with our eyes closed using some new age breathing techniques, most of us never really achieve that zen like state. I know a portion of my own meditative time is spent in something that feels like a good snooze! At least that was the case until a couple of years ago when I discovered the lazy man’s way to meditate - the Holosync solution. Now, this is not an advertisement of any sort. I’m not getting paid to write this or commission from the company. I’m just telling you a story of how I have found more meaning in my life with a solution that guarantees to put me in a meditative state within a few minutes.

A couple of years ago, I was just post a bad break-up. The usual ice cream, movies, friends, and psychic hotlines were not doing the trick to lift my spirits. Some weeks and many, many hours of internet research later I happened upon a story of a man named Bill Harris. Bill, like myself, had gone to great lengths seeking meaning and happiness in his life.

Bill had heard that meditation would help him in this pursuit for meaning and joy, so when he was 19 he started meditating—an hour, sometimes more, each day—and he kept it up for sixteen years! Bill studied Eastern philosophy. He read everything he could get his hands on about psychology and psychotherapy. And, being a gung-ho, throw-caution-to-the-winds kind of guy, he actually tried everything people and book suggested!

It’s not that he didn’t get results from all these things. Sometimes Bill would even have what seemed to be dramatic breakthroughs. Eventually, though, he realized that the deep underlying cause of his unhappiness wasn’t really being altered by any of these things and the progress was unbearably slow. At this point, Bill sought out a better and faster way to find peace and thru his journey; a better and more effective way to meditate. And that’s when Bill started reading about neurotechnology. He found a neuro-audio technology that when placed beneath soothing music and listened to with stereo headphones, produces some absolutely mind-blowing experiences for the listener. Bill used this as a basis to produce his own technology that has now become his life work.

I’m not going to go into the technicals behind Holosync because, well, because I probably would screw up the explanation. I’m just going to tell you that Bill Harris has perfected this neurotechnology and has packaged it so you can literally get into a zen monk like meditative state with the touch of a button. After my first 30-minute session, I went deeper and more into that dream-like state than any of my previous meditation experiments over the last several years. The best part? I put the tracks on my ipod and hit play - virtually effortless.

What happens when you press play? Well, you listen to what seems to be very nice bells and rain and some other things you’d commonly find on one of those defunct sharper image noise machines. The difference is that the embedded audio tracks underneath these pleasant sounds sync with your brain and quickly put you in a deep meditative state. In the beginning, there were a lot of repressed emotional feelings that came up during my meditation. I actually cried a few times without realizing I was doing it- kinda freaky, but quite cathartic. After these sort of darker sessions, I’ve had more blissful ones and (this sounds hokey) many sessions that produce clear life visions. In fact, I even keep a notebook next to me when I meditate so I can scribble down all the thoughts and ideas that seem to be flowing like gifts in my mind.

I’m not saying it is the only or best way to meditate, but it is a great solution for those of you who do not intend on applying to monk school If you’ve ever had the desire to meditate but neither the time, nor patience, I suggest giving Holosync a whirl. I’ve been meditating with these cds for the last two years and it has truly changed my life. You can find more information at centerpointeresearch.com.

“If I retire early, I’ll be happy.”

“If I take a year off and travel, I’ll be happy.”

Sound familiar? Have you ever had these things actually happen and not been as happy as you had predicted? In the past, you may have believed this was because you lacked perspective or were just naturally unhappy person. I know I’ve been down that path before. Daniel Gilbert, Harvard psychologist, and author of the book “Stumbling on Happiness” offers an alternate solution.

Gilbert contends that people are incessantly wrong about predicting what will make them happy. He explains with both anecdotal and scientific studies that humans are just not capable of imagining future events and how they will feel accurately.

As evidence, Gilbert cites studies that demonstrate that a large majority of people who endure major traumas (war, break-ups, car accidents, rape) in their lives will return to a pre-trauma emotional state – in fact, many of them will report that they ended up happier than before the traumatic event. It’s as if we’re equipped with a gage that is constantly rebooting us back to our own baseline emotional state.

This concept may be more clear if you’ve ever had reminisced about a shared memory with a friend or family member. Somehow even though you may have been absolutely convinced of the order and details of a particular incident, others will have equally strong convictions of a different memory. It has been definitively proven that people use both selective and replacement memory techniques of past events.

Since we misremember how things that we have already experienced felt, we also mispredict how they will feel again in the future. The classic example here is childbirth, which women seem to misremember not being that bad. Gilbert says, “we expect the next car, the next house or the next promotion to make us happy even though the last ones didn’t and even though others keep telling us that the next ones won’t.”

What gets us through life is the right amount of delusion! Just enough to fool us into feeling relatively good about ourselves, but not so much as to exceed our own credulity.

“If we were to experience the world exactly as it is, we’d be too depressed to get out of bed in the morning,” Gilbert explains. “Yet if we were to experience the world exactly as we want it to be, we’d be too deluded to find our own slippers.”

What has been reinforced for me from this book is that we all need to find our happiness in the present and from within. If life experience hasn’t taught us that external factors do not produce true serenity, then this book will definitely convince the reader that time is of the essence - find your smile today!
